Terms and Conditions

The Coordinated Crisis Response is a collaboration between the Samaritan House, Help and Emergency Response, Inc., the Genieve Shelter, and the YWCA of South Hampton Roads that provides comprehensive, wrap-around crisis services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking. The Coordinated Crisis Response serves the cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach, as well as South Hampton and the Isle of Wight Counties.

The YWCA of South Hampton Roads operates the Coordinated Crisis Response Chat Hotline. Hotline Specialists are trained by YWCA staff to help you during online sessions, and the YWCA provides supervisors to monitor online sessions. Any information you share will be viewed by the Hotline Specialist assisting you, and also may be viewed by one or more staff members within the Coordinated Crisis Response for referrals and quality control purposes.

You may choose to provide personally identifiable information; however, the Coordinated Crisis Response Chat Hotline is an anonymous service, and you have the option to enter the chat anonymously. Please note that while no personally identifiable information will be required, the Hotline Specialist may ask for your city and state in order to provide you with the appropriate referrals. In addition, Hotline Specialists will be able to view the IP address you are using to access the Coordinated Crisis Response.

Hotline Specialists are mandated reporters, who are required by law to contact the authorities if child or elder abuse is suspected and identifying information is provided. The Coordinated Crisis Response encourages you to report any suspected abuse to the authorities, and Hotline Specialists are trained to assist you in making a report.

If a Hotline Specialist is not available, or if you need immediate assistance, you may always contact our 24-hour Crisis Hotline at 757-251-0144.
