About Crisis Chat
Crisis Chat offers emotional support and crisis intervention to people in emotional distress. Crisis Chat is available during hours that vary according to the crisis center availability.
If you are in suicidal crisis or emotional distress and Crisis Chat’s chat service is not available or is “offline,” please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK(8255).
If you or someone you know is currently in the act of harming him/herself or someone else, or if they need immediate medical attention, please dial 9-1-1.
Crisis Chat offers two distinct services and terms of service are listed separately below for each service.
Chat Service:
Automatically Collected and Stored Information
If you do nothing during your visit but log onto the website, we will gather and store certain information about your visit automatically. This information does not identify you personally. We automatically collect and store information, similar to the following, concerning your visit
¦ The Internet domain (for example, “xcompany.com” if you use a private Internet access account or “yourschool.edu” if you connect from a university’s domain);
¦The type of browser and operating system used to access the site;
¦The date and time you accessed the site; and
¦If you linked to the website from another website, the address of that website.
This information is used to help make the site more useful to visitors, to learn about the number of visitors to the site, and the types of technology visitors use. We do not automatically track or record personally-identifiable information about website visitors.
