Thanks for visiting 211 Alberta Chat. 211 Alberta Chat is a support service designed for Alberta delivered by Distress Centre Calgary (DCC) and CMHA – Edmonton Region (CMHA – ER). Since we take the privacy of our visitors very seriously, we don’t require any personal information when you visit our website.

If you are experiencing technical difficulties, please don’t hesitate to speak with us by calling 211 or the ten-digit numbers for DCC and CMHA – ER listed on www.ab.211.ca. Users of mobile devices (smartphone/tablets) please note: We often have difficulty receiving messages when chatting with users on these devices. For a more stable connection, please use a computer or phone us.

You may use 211 Alberta Chat without providing any personal information unless you want to. Staff on the Chat do not provide therapy, treatment, mental health care, or medical care but they will provide information on services, support, assistance, and helpful online resources via 211 Alberta Chat.


If you or someone you know is currently in the act of harming him/herself and/or in immediate need of medical attention, please phone 911 to access emergency assistance.

Voluntarily Provided Information
We do not collect personally identifiable information unless you decide to provide it to us. If you choose to provide personal information we do our very best to protect this information and your privacy.

We at 211 Alberta take your privacy and the security of your personal information very seriously. Security controls, are in place to ensure the protection of your information. Any information you provide us or that is collected will only be shared or disclosed as required by Federal or Provincial laws in force, now or in the future.
