Thanks for visiting Bullying Helpline Chat. Since we take the privacy of our visitors very seriously, we don’t require any personal information when you visit our website.

If you are experiencing technical difficulties, please don’t hesitate to speak with us by calling 1-888-456-2323. Users of mobile devices (smartphone/tablets) please note: We often have difficulty with messages getting through when chatting with users on these devices. For a more stable connection, please use a computer or phone us.

You may use Bullying Helpline Chat without providing any personal information unless you want to. Staff on the Chat do not provide therapy, treatment, mental health care, or medical care but they will provide information on services, support, assistance, and helpful online resources.

If you are having thoughts of suicide, in crisis or emotional distress and the chat service is not available because chat volunteers are assisting other chatters, please call our Crisis Line at 403.266.HELP(4357) or ConnecTeen at 403.264.TEEN(8336). We are able to help you faster over the phone, and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for people seeking help by phone.

If you or someone you know is currently in the act of harming him/herself and/or in immediate need of medical attention, please phone 911 and get emergency help.

Voluntarily Provided Information
We do not collect personally identifiable information unless you decide to provide it to us. If you choose to provide personal information we will do our very best to protect this information and your privacy.

Privacy and Security
We, at Bullying Helpline Chat, take your privacy and the security of your personal information very seriously. Security controls, are in place to ensure the protection of your information. Any information you tell us or that is collected will only be shared or disclosed as required by Federal or Provincial laws in force, now or in the future.

Any information obtained from website links provided during Chat is the responsibility of the party operating the linked site, not of Bullying Help Line Chat. Bullying Helpline Chat is not responsible for the contents of linked sites or for any harm or injury resulting from their use. The inclusion of any links does not necessarily imply a recommendation or endorse the views expressed within them.

AGREEMENT:
By entering this site, you understand and agree that we, at Distress Centre Calgary, are not responsible for any personal information which you may decide to enter over the Internet during your visit. Despite our efforts to protect your personal information, there is always some level of risk that your information may not be private when communicating over the Internet.

Since your participation in Distress Centre Calgary Chat is voluntary and not related to either medical or mental health care or treatment by Distress Centre Calgary, we are not responsible for any decisions you make nor are we responsible for the results or consequences of the decisions that you make related to your chatting with Distress Centre Calgary volunteers.
You must also agree not to upload, transmit, distribute or otherwise publish any material that is:
(1) Libelous, defamatory, obscene, abusive, pornographic, threatening, or an invasion of privacy;
(2) An infringement of the intellectual property rights, including, but not limited to, copyrights and trademarks, of any person or entity;
(3) Illegal in any way or advocates illegal activity;
(4) An advertisement or solicitation of funds, goods, or services;
(5) A message impersonating another user
Any of the above activity is grounds terminating service and will not be tolerated by Distress Centre Volunteers.
