Monday through Sunday 12pm-8pm

Thanks for visiting Family Violence and Information Line Chat. Since we take the privacy of our visitors very seriously, we don’t require any personal information when you visit our website.

If you are experiencing technical difficulties, please don’t hesitate to speak with us by calling our line at 310-1818. Users of mobile devices (smartphone/tablets) please note: We often have difficulty with messages getting through when chatting with users on these devices. For a more stable connection, please use a computer or phone us.

You may use Family Violence and Information Line Chat without providing any personal information unless you want to. Staff on the Chat do not provide therapy, treatment, mental health care, or medical care but they will provide information on services, support, assistance, and helpful online resource.

If you are having thoughts of suicide, in crisis or emotional distress and the chat service is not available because chat volunteers are assisting other chatters, please call our Crisis Line at 403.266.HELP(4357) or ConnecTeen at 403.264.TEEN(8336). We are able to help you faster over the phone, and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for people seeking help by phone.

If you or someone you know is currently in the act of harming him/herself and/or in immediate need of medical attention, please phone 911 and get emergency help.

Voluntarily Provided Information
We do not collect personally identifiable information unless you decide to provide it to us. If you choose to provide personal information we will do our very best to protect this information and your privacy.

Privacy and Security
We, at Distress Centre Calgary, take your privacy and the security of your personal information very seriously. Security controls, are in place to ensure the protection of your information. Any information you tell us or that is collected will only be shared or disclosed as required by Federal or Provincial laws in force, now or in the future.

Distress Centre Calgary is not responsible for the contents of linked sites or for any harm or injury resulting from their use.
